What TrustLight is

TrustLight is a directory. We confirm a contractor’s license, insurance and business registration as of the date we check them. What we publish is the listing itself: business name, trade, location, and that verification is current. We do not publish the underlying records we review, or anything we find in them.

What verification does not mean

Verification is not a guarantee, warranty, endorsement, or recommendation. It confirms that specific checks passed on a specific date. It does not guarantee the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any work.

TrustLight is not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor. We do not perform contracting work, supervise it, or hold funds. Hiring decisions and any dispute that follows are between you and the contractor.

Verify licensing and insurance independently before work begins, get everything in writing, and be cautious about large upfront deposits — regardless of what any directory says.

The Digital Trust Index

The Index is an advisory measure of a business's digital presence. It is not a safety rating, a quality rating, or a prediction of how a job will go. See the methodology.

Using the site

The directory is free to browse. Don't scrape it, resell it, misrepresent your relationship with TrustLight, or submit false reports.

For contractors

Verification fees are annual. A listing may be withdrawn if a license or policy lapses and is not renewed, if a fraud report is substantiated, or if TrustLight status is misrepresented. If we cannot complete verification, the fee is refunded in full. The TrustLight badge may only be displayed while verification is current and must show the correct year.

Reviews

Reviews reflect the experiences of the people who wrote them. We look at whether reviews are genuine, but we do not independently confirm each one.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, TrustLight is not liable for damages arising from your use of the directory or from any contractor's work.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use means acceptance of the current version.

Governing law

The laws of the State of Louisiana, where TrustLight is based, without regard to conflict of law principles.
